Quick Facts

The Cape Henlopen campsites are flat and sandy with a good mix of shady and sunny sites, but they  offer very little in the way of privacy.

Pitch Your Tent!

At Cape Henlopen, there’s a special surfing beach, a beach just for fishing, and a lovely bayside beach with quiet water for families with littles. 

Head to the Beach!

Several rare shorebirds are found at Cape Henlopen State Park, as well as marine mammals and breeding horseshoe crabs.

Look for Wildlife!

Walking Dunes Trail (2.6-mile loop) Bike Loop (3.3-mile loop) and bike rentals are free! Pinelands Nature Trail (1.8-mile loop)

Hike or Bike a Trail!

There are several WWII observation towers in Fort Miles within the park. You can climb tower 7 for great views.

Launch your kayak in Delaware Bay for fabulous explorations along the shore. Kayak rentals are available in the shack next to the bait and tackle shop.
