Every December, I find myself drawn to the quiet charm of New England’s mountain towns, with twinkling lights in every window, wreaths on every door, and the scent of wood smoke hanging in the air.

There’s just something magical about small country inns all dressed up for the holidays, especially when those inns come with freshly baked cookies to get you in the spirit.

That’s exactly what makes the Inn to Inn Cookie Tour in New Hampshire’s White Mountains such a treat to experience.

Part road trip, part holiday open house, and entirely delicious, this self-guided tour through New Hampshire’s White Mountains combines the best parts of winter: cozy inns, sweet treats, and the spirit of giving.

Now celebrating its 28th year, the tour has grown into a beloved regional event that welcomes cookie lovers from all over New England. This year’s Inn to Inn Cookie Tour will take place on December 13 & 14, 2025.

This year’s expanded lineup includes 11 inns across Tamworth, Madison, Eaton, North Conway, and Jackson, each offering signature cookie creations, seasonal décor, and the kind of hospitality that makes you want to stay awhile.

A Tour for the Senses

Imagine snow-dusted evergreens, twinkling lights, and tables piled high with Cherry Almond Shortbread, Bailey’s Hot Chocolate Bars, and Eggnog Pecan Sandies.

Each inn on the tour offers something special, from live music and sleigh rides to local artisan markets and carolers by the fire.

But the event is about more than just cookies. A portion of the proceeds supports End 68 Hours of Hunger, a local nonprofit that provides meals for children facing food insecurity. “The joy we spread during the holiday season also helps feed kids who need it most,” says Tim Ostendorf, Innkeeper at the Inn at Crystal Lake.
